Our service is unique because we are able to secure equipment quickly upon a customers request, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and have had no damage claims on any shipment.

We have an advantage in the marketplace because of our fair rates, reputation for punctuality and a well known name in the industry. Many other carriers are not available after hours and on weekends, and often incur damages and have unsatisfactory delivery schedules.

We are able to provide customers with a variety of equipment including dryvans, reefers, straight trucks and specialized equipment such as flat beds, stepdecks, b-trains, double drops and rgns.

We are able to service the transportation needs of those requiring overdimensional shipments, hazmat and customs documentation.

Our customers prefer us over any other company because we have a proven track record for punctuality, availability of equipment, fair pricing and a positive reputation.

Most of our business has come through referrals from long term customers. Most customers have followed us through past employers and would rather stick with the representative they have grown to know and trust, as opposed to a brand.

The girls were indeed told they wouldn’t make it in the industry.

This enhanced their drive to succeed.

After working together for several years, Lisa and Sandy decided to join forces and form this company as a solution to continue servicing existing customers through means of a reputable, dependable and cost effective channel.

In their eyes, the best approach was to form their own company. This was the only way to ensure the standards and principles they believed their customers and drivers deserved, were maintained.

The company was founded in July, 2005 by Sandy Cunningham and Lisa Wood, and being the creative (or not) individuals they are, the company name came to be.

Over the past several years, Lisa and Sandy have certainly had their share of concerns that every business encounters. Through rough economic times, receivables issues and every day growing pains, Sandy and Lisa have remained united in a quest to flourish.

By pulling together and being creative, they were able to persevere through the rough patches and excel, where others have “failed to deliver.” (pun intended!)

The company has gone through another growth stage of business as they have increased their fleet size, in addition to the growing brokerage division. They found that adding their expeditor truck to the fleet, has also added to their diversity.

Sandwood Transport, Inc. is owned and operated in rural Havelock, Ontario, Canada full-time by Lisa and Sandy.

We provide trucking and brokerage services throughout North America for our customers by way of highway trucks.

We are a unique enterprise as we are a wholly owned female company.
